Citrix Workspace app is a new client from Citrix that works similar to Citrix Receiver and is fully backward-compatible with your organization’s Citrix infrastructure.

- Citrix Workspace app is a client component in a Citrix infrastructure that allows a user to launch resources in a Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) environment, formerly known as XenApp and XenDesktop. With resources I mean for example (Saas) applications and virtual desktops.
Citrix has replaced the Citrix Receiver with the Citrix Workspace app. In most cases, the Workspace app is backward-compatible, and should not require additional maintenance. If auto-update is enabled on your device, the app should update automatically. You'll notice a blue Citrix icon in your system tray or App Store representing the Workspace app.
